Do you have Windows Live OneCare or some other antispyware program that may be causing this behavior? It's a known problem with the OneCare.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

hi,,,, i wonder if a nasty is turning it off,,,, run a scan with this spyware scanner, download the free version
http://www.superantispyware.com/
download and update it then activate (show) hidden files,, boot in safe mode and scan, it mite not be a nasty but some are set to turn off your security.
good luck.

I don't think that there's a fix available (from this post: http://help.lockergnome.com/vista/live-one...opict41058.html )

The best suggestion that I read was to dump OneCare and get an antivirus program (check here for recommendations for free ones: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html ) and then enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall.
