Very New Computer, But We Decided To Go With Windows Xp Media Edition, Change To Vista?

We got this computer about 1 year ago for christmas, its a GateWay FX,
all the hardware inside I belive at the time was the most you could upgrade from there ordering website.
I'm not sure if I can reboot my computer to Windows Vista form Windows XP Media Edition 2002 SP2
(I got the computer in 2006, almost going into 2007)
