Hi,

A question for you home grown and other experts out there. I just reinstalled Windows XP and SP 2 and I was very happy to get the intro and ending music back on start up and sign off. And thanks again for all the sugestions for reinstalling. Only I've recently put some program on my PC, Encryption or something only to find out it interfered with the PC operations. So I of course took it off only to find that it took the Music with it. This happened before I reinstalled Windows XP and SP 2. I now start and end without that lovely music. I kind of like it. I'd like to get it back!
Now my question is: Is there a way to get that nice start and end music back without reinstalling the whole software, Windows XP and SP 2? I'm not familiar enough with the PC to know where to look for it. And then if there is any twist to getting it back up and running? Anyone? Thanks.

Sincerely,

John
John

Thank you tq1911,

Thanks for showing me where to go for just what I was looking for. I did find the startup and ending music sound clips there. And I did try to reinstall them from there by changing the sound bit and then going back to the one for it so that I could use the apply button but alas nothing worked. The sound bits are there. They test to be there but I can't get them to work at startup and shutdown. Again thanks for showing me were to go for them. I would of looked for ever to try to find them on my own. But I still can't get them to work properly. If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks.

I have a couple of links, that might provide a solution:
under"UPGRADING & COMPATIBILITY ISSUES"
and this one:
also under "UPGRADING & COMPATIBILITY ISSUES"
annoyances.org
lockergnome.com
softwaretipsandtricks.com/

Seems like a common problem, with no definitive fix.
