I seem to be seriously infected - Win2K. Any application I try to execute returns a "Specified path does not exist" message.
The data is intact as the "My Computer" icon will let me see the drives, but will not let me run anything.
I can get to the Task Manager. I can login as administrator.
I can boot to "Safe Mode", but the same symptoms exist.

I have most of the diagnostic programs you guys use loaded onto a thumb drive. I can see the thumb drive from Windows, but trying to run anything gives me the same error.

PLEASE help. Thanks in advance, Gary

welcome to bleeping

Do you have an install disk for W2k, hopefully with sp4?

have you tried running just an exe file from safe mode?
Chewy

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

Things are a little better. I managed to get to a safe mode command prompt. From there, I was able to extract Malware and SuperAntiSpyware onto the thumb drive and run from a command prompt. I ran Malware a couple of times and the SuperAntiSpyware, and most everything seems to be back to normal. I am in the process now of running the Kaspersky online scan.
Is there anything you would like for me to run to get some logs? I would like someone to take a look at the logs, just to make sure everything is OK. Thanks very much for your help. GH
