HI

a few weeks back I started getting unwanted pop ups on my wifes laptop.
We share a machine and both have our own profiles (as admins)

I use a usb key for my browser and office needs (in the main)

Firefox was set up to disallow unwanted pop ups
IE is installed but rarely used
Both get these pop ups
Marketing rubbish - mobile phones, loans, supermarket vouchers etc etc etc
no pr0n thankfully

last night I deleted my profile and it seems to have stopped
SO
what was it
googling the file names in the image below reveals nothing

it has been suggested that these file names were something to do with AVG, but I don't think they were

Sadly I only found out about this scan & forum after I'd deleted the profile, so the hijakck this report below may not be of much use as the unwanted activity seems to hve ceased.
Oh - I also use K-Meleon browser and that did not ever get unwanted pop ups

The thing that worried me as regards Firefox is that pop ups were disabled and I have pop up blocker extension installed as well as No Script
so I was (am) quite worried
