Hello Everyone,
My problem is a win32/magistrA virus, and that's where the troubles begins, also the firewall (zonealarm security siute) is out of commission and antivirus can't accept updates. It's a Pavilion 6645C given to me by family and it didn't come with any of the original materials such as recovery disks, windows 98 se.It's now running xp pro and it no longer identifies its service pack status any more or will accept any new firewall software. So this means no internet?I've tried several removal tools from Grisoft, Bitdefender, and Symantec to no success.I've done a list of things, but nothing has worked so far.I used msconfig, scandisk, defrag the HD and ran avg free which is running with no updates in safe and normal mode the still no joy.Does anyone have any ideas on removing the culprit short of reformatting. My pc experience is considered to be at the beginner level. Please any help would be appreciated............
