Hello, everybody! I'm new to the group, and practically a novice at dealing with computers. (Most of my computer training's been on a "need to know" basis and geared around functionality, rather than a sound knowledge of what I was doing or why I was doing it.)
I'm a visual artist, writer, and poet. (I have aspirations of becoming a science-fiction writer and illustrator, but haven't written anything yet.) Machines kind of scare me (I can barely get along with my airbrushes). I'd like to become as proficient at doing graphic and commercial art on computers as I am doing it the old-fashioned way at a drawing-board. Eventually I'd like to get to the point where I can create graphic novels and color black-and-white art using graphics software like Corel and Adobe Illustrator. Hope nobody minds lots and lots of questions (I promise to listen attentively to the answers). I sure hope I'll be able to regard all of you as my friends and teachers!
