Here is what Simon posted to my problem and then the topic was closed. Please help. MY RESPONSE TO HIS COMMENT FOLLOWS HIS REMARKS.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

My name is Simon V., and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Step 1

Please download and install CCleaner.

Open CCleaner. On the Windows tab, leave the default options alone.

On the Applications tab, check (tick) all the boxes except Saved Form Information. This will remove all your saved passwords if you leave this box checked.
Click on the Run Cleaner button at the bottom right hand corner.
When the cleaner has completed, click Tools in the Left Pane.
Verify that Uninstall is highlighted in color, or click on it.
In the lower right, click Save to Text File.
Pull down the arrow at the top of the Save dialog and choose Desktop as the location.
You can leave the filename as install.txt.
Click Save, then exit Ccleaner.

Step 2

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location.
You can also access the log by doing the following:

Click on the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware icon to launch the program.
Click on the Logs tab.
Click on the log at the bottom of those listed to highlight it.
Click Open.

Step 3

In your next reply, please post:

a new HijackThis log
the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware log
the CCleaner Uninstall List (install.txt)

Hello exclive,

I hope you're not upset. Simon closed the thread because you didn't respond in 5 days to his directions. Usually when that much time goes by the topic starter isn't going to come back and follow through. He did the right thing.

Did you set the very last entry in the HijackThis log yourself, the second 024? If not, then please include it in the rest of the HijackThis fix.

Go to start -> control panel -> Display properties -> Desktop -> Customize Desktop... -> Web tab, then uncheck and delete everything you find in there (except for "My current home page"),

Also remove the checkmark from the the Lock Desktop Items box if it is checked.
Apply.
Apply and Exit Display properties.

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

O24 - Desktop Component 0: Privacy Protection - (no file)

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer.

Click start > controlpanel > add/remove Programs and uninstall the following, if present :

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_06

Reboot your computer.

In your reply, please post a new HijackThis log and let me know how your computer is running now. :)

Thanks,
tea
Please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you.
Every little bit helps! :)
You can even use your credit card! Thank you!

Hello,

You're running NOD32? Run this tool to get rid of Norton leftovers :

The Norton uninstall tool uninstalls ALL Norton 2004/2005/2006/2007/2008 products from your computer. It also uninstalls Norton Ghost 10.0/9.0/2003. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...005033108162039

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall. Only run this once!

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Well that was revealing.........Do you really use SpyHunter? It's not that reliable, and you do have other protection in place. Personally I would uninstall it. Did you install Uniblue? Nothing wrong with it if you did, but I'd like to know, please.

* Open notepad - don't use any other text editor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quote box below into notepad:

Folder::
C:\VundoFix Backups
C:\SDFix

File::
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\yncigpib.ini
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iilhlyyr.ini
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sfjykdff.ini

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

This will start ComboFix again.

After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.

How is it running now?

Thanks,
tea

Don't use spyhunter and could not find it in add/remove.
I did not install uniblue.
Running smoother. Still slow from windows login and web but no hijack on web.

Thanks so much for your help with this. The bio hazard thing really freaked me out.

Hello,

Do a Windows Search for SpyHunter then, and delete everything that comes up. Is it possible that someone else installed the Uniblue? If you really don't know what it is, or don't use it, then uninstall it, then reboot.

Please delete ComboFix and its accompanying folder C:\Qoobox. Empty your Recycle bin and reboot your computer.

You're most welcome for the help.

Let me know how you come out.

Thanks,
tea

Much, much improved. Thank you!!

One last question. Since you had me delete the Java's before, do I need to install when they appear like in the attachment?

Thanks again.

I can't open that. Post it, please. The only Java you should have in Add/Remove Programs is the lastest version. All the others should be uninstalled.

Glad it's running better.
