I have a couple of e-mail problems. First and foremost is Outlook Express. I receive e-mail but the body of the e-mail will not open in the window. If I wait long enough it just times out. have researched this on microsoft and found nothing that relates close enough to my problem to try. Running XP SP2, IE 6 and OL 6.

Thunderbird I cannot use as it says that my pop 3 password that works on all other e-mail (inc. OL 6) is invalid. I have previously posted this problem here and received no response.

In other words, I have no e-mail. Again, please don't let this post go un noticed. I need to get these up and running. The Outlook prob just started. No clue as to why. Have run all spyware and antivirus scans. AD AWARE, Spybot, PC-Cillin, inc. Housecall, and Microsoft Antispy.
A great golf swing and chili, onions and garlic all have one thing in common: they're repeatable!

OK tcgolf,

I think the easiest solution to your IE6 problem is to do a reinstall or repair
of the IE6.

See this article at "the Elder Geek on Windows XP" for an overview of
how to do this.

http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_reinstall_ie_and_oe_6.htm

For more information on how to un-install and re-install OE6 see also
these items at "Tweak XP dot Com".

Re-install OE6
http://www.tweakxp.com/article139787.aspx

Un-install OE6
http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak2101.aspx

I don't use Thunderbird for e-mail - so we'll have to wait for
another to respond to that part of your questions.

HTH
regards,
Koan

My thought regarding the Thunderbird problem is this:

The setting up of POP3 account(s) calls for using the username password at any given email server.

So POP3 from yahoo mail might need the logon password at that website,
where the logon password at google mail might differ. Instructions about the POP3
setup I found at the server help page.

https://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer...13285&topic=194

It might provide you with a clue or two.

Yahoo mail depends on a upgrade subscription to get POP3.

Since I'm cheap, I simply forward the messages there to google gmail and deal with 'em.

I really hope you can get Thunderbird going. I've found it easier to use than Outlook Express,
and in general I trust Mozilla code more than Microsoft for security regarding email.
