I have a problem on another pc that greys out the area where you would normally change the desktop background, however it can still be changed if you right click on a picture and set to background. This computer was previously infected but cleaned, but this problem evidently wasn't noticed or fixed. Everything points to smitfraud.reg will fix it, but on every webpage I go to for it, the link to download it is here at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/reg/smitfraud.reg all I get is a 404 file not found, and noone else has another copy of the original file. I've searched all of bleepingcomputer and started an account in the attempts to find this "elusive" reg entry.....can someone please help me?

Edit: Moved topic from General Chat to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Please try this link. Run the cleaning step from safe mode. Please post the scan report.
The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt .

I appreciate the link, it's not this computer that has the problem and I can't get to the one that is having it at this time. Just for the life of me I wasn't able to find that exe. Once again thank you.

smitfraud.reg was an older fix which is not used anymore and the link to it has been removed. You probably were reading some outdated discussion threads where that file was referred to.
