Xp Hangs After Startup

Hi, anyone can help me out with this serious problems. I had encounter some porn shortcut downloading on my desktop while surfing some blogs & after doing a finish scan with Symantec Antivirus i done a restarts & now my XP Pro hangs when im in the main screen.

All my impt data are in my local disc but I can't do anything at all coz it just hangs whenever i restart, anyway i can resolve this problems? Btw i can start it in safe mode.

Really urgent help needed thanks so much

Nortons and the infection are probably causing your lockup, neither can win in normal mode

Try running a norton scan from safe mode and see if it helps

If it doesn't then you'll have to do some other tricks to get normal mode working, it will involve disabling norton's
