Hello.

I need help in removing the "mrofinu" virus from my computer.

I ran Vundo fix and it did not see anything.

Please find the Hijack this log.

Thank you for the help I really appreciate it.

This computer is the only computer that we have. And my family uses this a lot.

Make it a great day

Ben

Hi Ben, welcoming to Bleeping Computer, please be sure you have read and followed the
Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log, Instructions for receiving help in cleaning your computer http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/
All advice given is taken at your own risk.

Since you missed the directions posted above and pinned to the top of the forum, go ahead and read those first.

Not a lot of information to work with, but I see this:
C:\WINDOWS\17PHolmes572.exe
http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X1444142751...MES572.EXE.html
I should not be there, if you still need help, let's take a look, follow the directions carefully.

Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.

Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log using Add Reply. I would appreciate it if you do not change the font size, we are used to viewing the normal font.

Tutorial if needed:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

If you issues are resolved, post to let me know so I can close your topic.

Thanks...Phil
