My husband gave me his old dell inspiron e1705 that came with xp media center on it. Dell has its own factory settings ghost install on it so I started from scratch. I was attacked by a worm recently and some system files were corrupted. I have no disk for the computer, dell does not give them or my husband lost it. I have our xp pro disk from work that I was only hoping to run a repair install and restore damaged system files but of course it wants to upgrade. It tells me invalid key and it's already partially installed pro on there and I cannot get out of it.

I don't know, please help. I've been looking through keys and key gens and all these registry and deactivation tools which are no help to my currently unavailable system

At the bottom of this page:
Dell support
You will find a link to request replacement CD's. Takes a little over a week. Mine was free. You might still need to go to your specific model's download page for certain drivers
