my computer is starting very slowly. There is a green background that appears before my original background image appears. this has never happened before, but it is now occuring, along with the very very slow startup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I downloaded the hijackthis logger, if this would help. Thank you.

I think it might help if we know which antivirus program and other protection methods you have on board and when you last fully updated them and ran them all ?

also, when were you last able to visit the windows microsoft update site and get all the latest patches for Windows ??
