Hi all, I have a windows xp pro machine wich keeps turning off after the xp splat.

I need to get into recovery console to fixboot, mbr or one of them.

I can't get into the recovery console though, when I boot from my XP disk - it just doesn't come up?

Takes me straight through, as if installing xp

Any ideas?

When you get to the "Welcome to Setup" screen are you clicking on R to start the recovery console?

Does you computer shut off or restart?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
