Hello learjet,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O4 - Global Startup: AutorunsDisabled
O18 - Protocol: AutorunsDisabled - (no CLSID) - (no file)
O24 - Desktop Component 0: (no name) - (no file)

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from one of these places:

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Hello Tea. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner but I was not notified of your reply through e-mail (Iwas sure I had specified this in my profile but I got no notice - unless my spam filter... Anyway, I'll be sure to check this forum regularly from now on.

I followed your detailed instructions and I attach a copy of the MBAM scan (Luckily, no malware was found).
Next, I follow that with a fresh scan of HijackThis, as you requested.

Thanks for your help and I'm looking forward to your comments.

I did, as you specified I should do at the beginning of your help post to me. Nothing much happened after I clicked 'Fix checked'.
I saw a small dialog box with a zero in it and no further instructions. So, I rebooted and downloaded MBAM and ran that.

Should I run HijackThis again with a check in front of the six items you specified? I will wait for your answer before proceeding with this.

Thank you.

I ran HijackThis again and found only four of the original six items you specified. Both 04 items are no longer there.

I attach a copy of the last scan I made a minute or two ago in HijackThis.

Great working with you. Thanks a lot.
