Currently running XP on a Dell xps computer. Clicked on the wrong codec last night on a gaming forum apparently and ended up with constant popup messages "your computer is infected with a dangerous virus. Click to install the antivurus ....blah...blah...
I also search on any search engine to find the first 3 links going straight to a malware bell online scanner site. There is also a fun addition at the top of each search page with a woman spread eagle and a link to an explicit site, no doubt to get me to try to click there. Also have an error message every time a page reloads or redirects, and an error message at the top of each search results page with a big red x and more links directly to malware bell. PLEASE HELP!!!

I pay my bills online and use my computer constantly for work.

Currently at work awating your reply.

Measures taken:

ran ESET NOD Anitvirus: no luck

Bought and ran spy hunter which claims to have deleted tons o crap with malware rogue registry values at the top of the list but still recieving messages.

Thanks in advance

~Kristin
