Outlook Exspress

I have just got a new computer and have re installed outlook express, My operating system is xp prof. on my new computer, on my old computer you showed me how to open each e mail in individual windows, and the first display screen was different to what it is now. I carnt remember what you told me to do to alter the first display screen, can you help please

Open up Outlook Express.
Go to the inbox.
Click on View at the top of OE, then Layout when the View menu opens.
UNCHECK Show Preview Pane, click APPLY to save the change.
Close out the Layout box.
