Hello,

I am new here. I hope I am posting this is in the correct area. I have an Acer laptop that was purchased in October. It came with Vista on it. I am sadly, not the most computer literate person, thankfully my job doesn't require that I be.

Recently I downloaded a link that I thought was a program upgrade. It did not upgrade anything and now my laptop is missing it's desktop. It also can't run any of the C: files for longer than 2 seconds, without closing. Almost like it's refreshing? I can go through the task manager and open misc files that will remain on (Itunes, Mozilla, Flickr Uploader, AIM, etc). The computer itself is running very slowly now. I have run AFG and CC Cleaner and Windows Defender. AFG found viruses, that I "healed" but it's still not working properly. I don't believe I still have the discs to reinstall Vista on my laptop, but I'm still looking/digging.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
