I have
Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.1
Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse
Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver

Every time I play games such as GTA SA MP or Counter Strike:Source I can't really use my wireless keyboard because I hold down the key I wish to use it works for about 5 seconds then just stops as If I've just unpressed it. It does it with every key but It's fine when I type things. I have opened notepad and held a key for a certain amount of time and there were no brakes in the line. I've re-installed XP, formatted made a new partition, Installed the software for my keyboard and mouse even though it works without it. I've moved the USB to other slots still does the same thing. It used to work fine nothing has been spilt inside it. The mouse also went a bit dodgy like the batteries needed to be replaced but I've changed both components batteries and still does the same thing. Would you think this is a hardware fault or maybe something to do with DirectX.

Thanks,

Andy.

Have you tried tinkering with the settings in Keyboard properties?

I haven't no, But I wouldn't of thought there's a setting that unpresses after a certain amount of time but I'll play around with it.

Just a thought because I've never used it. Do you have Sticky Keys enabled?
Although I think if it's operating normally in everything else except the game, there must be a setting in the game.
It wouldn't hurt to post in the gaming forum:

Sticky keys can be enabled by mistake during gameplay... I think
