Windows Xp Stops At The Verifying Dmi Pool Data

My friends son had a computer in storage then took it out to use and it starts up until the "verifying dmi pool data" point, I have cleaned it out but still it does that, it will enter setup mode during startup by pressing delete.

Hi, take a look at http://www.duxcw.com/faq/computer/dmi.html

I would also just double-check all connections, ensuring that they are solid.


Make sure that the BIOS recognizes the drives attached properly, I might even reset the BIOS to go with default settings (suggested in first link, I think).
