I installed the free Active Virus Shield (powered by Kaspersky) a while back and it has been working great. Apparantly, they are discontinuing it and in it's place offering McAfeeŽ Virus Scan Plus-Special edition from AOL. Would you recommend I use this or do you prefer another free virus/spyware program?

Thank you for your expert advice!

OK- so no one has responded to me yet. Is this the wrong forum to be asking this? It is a pretty simple question (I thought).
Any advice on which Free anti-virus/spyware software to use would be much appreciated.

I use the free personal version and I'm happy with it.

As to your problem with the lack of response, a little self-help would very likely produce the results you
desire, perhaps sooner rather than later.

There are many discussions about antivirus recommendations.

I personaly hate Avira. Slow to update and it shows adds. No email protection for the free version!?! You could try Avast or AVG. Personaly, for something as important as an antivirus, I prefer paying (Kaspersky or NOD32 are really good). There IS a difference in my opinion.
