Block it form what in what sense.

I would recommend a firewall if you are nervous about someone getting into your computer with your IP. Zone Alarm will try and block your IP when possible, but it is not always possible.

You could release the ip address but thats kidna a time hassle. I haven't had any problems release/renewing it but who knows?

Your best bet would be just disconnect it from the internet.

But if you want to go with the release idea witch will basically "delete" your ip adress it is...

Start> Run type cmd and press enter.

Type ipconfig /release

When ever you want to get you ip back do the following

Start>Run type cmd and press enter

type ipconfig /renew

Good luck

One thing about the above step provided by "xXAlphaXx" is that it only works if your computer is directly connected to your cable modem or dsl modem. If you are talking about your Internet IP address I would recommend using a firewall like previously mentioned or if you want to blog people from connecting to your IP address (such as specificalyl bad people) you could try PeerGuardian2.
