Wont Take My Cd For Windows File Protection Error

i noticed that windows was not acting correctly. after further investigation, i noticed that all the services were disabled. so i figured id try sfc (system file checker). maybe that was the wrong thing to do. now when it asks for the cd , it tells me its the wrong cd. i have xp media center sp2. i have a slipsteamed xp sp2 cd in the drive. why wont this work. thanks for your help

Hello.

There is a good guide HERE on using the SFC and solving issues relating to it. Make sure you backup the registry before making any changes to it.

Can you please specify exactly what "services" were disabled? I assume you had used msconfig or service.msc. Did you get an error when you tried re-enabling them?

thanks very much. ill check it out. i havent enabled anything yet. i was hoping there was a way to enable a lot of them instead of going thru each individual one. besides i wouldnt know which ones to enable.

You should be able to return to original configuration by doing a repair install of the O/S, IMO.
