I have recently installed Vista home premium 64 bit edition. After I installed it and downloaded all the updates including sp1, I installed the ac3, K-lite codec pack, and divx. I can open any other media player( divx player, windows media player, quicktime player) and play my .avi files, but in media center, I cannot. All it says is that it's missing the proper codecs. I'm obviously missing something.

Running Divx on Vista 64 bit is unsupported

Read this artivle from DivX community on how to get it to work

As for Klite you need the addon for 64 bit. get it here

Also go here for info on AC3 not working with Vista 64 bit WMC

I did install the 64bit version of k-lite and I'm not having any problems with divx or any other media players. It's only in media center that I'm having trouble.
