Hello,

I have windows XP, eMachines, T3990 XP Home with SP2 Preinstalled. I reformatted my computer yesterday, and all seemed to go well. However, now that I've been re-installing several pieces of software, I've realized that my sound does not work. In fact, the little sound icon in the tray doesn't even come up anymore.

I've checked my drivers, and I use RealtekAC97 Audio, and the computer recognizes it and it is "enabled". I've checked the Windows help site, and so far nothing has been of use. I'm not so sure where to even go from here.

So I guess my question is, is this a driver problem, should I have installed something more that I am missing? I'm not sure why the sound controls wouldn't even show up in the system tray. Any help ANYONE could offer me would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank You!
