This looks like a great site! I'am looking forward to participating in some security sollutions here. I already run most of the standard stuff, IE: XP Pro, Norton Pro, Spybot, Adaware, Reg-clean, etc. thru a firewall with high speed cable. Usually I don't have much problem with Malware, Bots, Adware, etc. but recently my browser was hijacked and if I didn't have 2 opperating systems installed on my machine, I'd be re-installing my opperating system now, instead of posting this. Found out about "Hijackthis" downloaded and used it a little (did'nt hurt anything) but now I need help. Looks like this is this the place to get it!

Hi, blank.
Welcome aboard.
I'd like to recommend a couple of additions to your Security "toolbox".
aČ free - a complementary product to antivirus software which is specialized in protection against harmful software. Antivirus software often features an inadequate protection against Trojans, Dialers and Spyware. aČ fills this gap.
SpywareBlaster - A good program that prevents spyware from being installed on your computer in the first place. This program is always running in the background, protecting your computer. It prevents the installation of bad active X controls found in web pages.
Firefox - a faster, more secure browser, than IE.

If you would post your HJT log in the HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum, one of our HJT Team members would be happy to check it out, for you.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

I see tg911 already said try firefox but I want to also say to try it. Its a great browser and is more secure than IE. It even opens pages faster and uses less resources! http://www.mozilla.com

Enjoy your stay!
