I'm a beginner and this bleeping computer doesn't like me. It knows who I am and it won't cooperate. I'm going to wear a disguise.

I'm trying to use a pic as an avatar on a forum. The forum requires the avatar height and width to be no more than 80 pixels. Fair enough.

I paste the picture on Paint, and then on "attributes," I type in 70 x 70 pixels (a few less than the forum requires).

I then save the downsized picture, go to my forum and try to enter it as an avatar. But damn, the forum then says "The avatar image must be less than 6kb." I would think that a 70 x 70 pixel image would be less than 6kb?

How do you adjust or resize an image so that it will be less than 6kb?

Many thanks in advance for suggestions and help.

Try saving it as a gif and seeing if its small enough. Is it animated?
