Computer Problems Simple

I got computer and the motherboard turns on (fans, lights, etc.). But it seems that the hard drives are not loading and there is no video on my new monitior. Any ideas? I swithced out HD with a good one and the Bios of that one loads but I just get a blinking cursor. Is the motherboard shot or just the HD and video. Pleas help, Thank You.

1.4ghz intle
80gb HD
32mb Nvidia card
cd drive
windows XP SP2

I just had a similar problem. Carefully remove the processor and look very closely for any bent pins.

Asus Crosshair III  Motherboard, AMD PhenomII x4 965 custom watercooled XSPC Raystorm copper block,  8g Mushkin Blackline
2 XFX Radeon 4890's in Crossfire mode custom watercooled full copper EK blocks,  XSPC rs360 triple 120 radiator 
850w Antec full modular 80plus certified,  NZXT Switch Black case  Custom Watercooled Laing DDC w/ XSPC pumptop res

Tygon black tubing,  all Bitspower fittings and clamps, 2 Samsung 1T spinpoint F1's 

Windows 7 Professional x64 dual boot Ubuntu 12.10

Yes. I found 3 bent pins. Everyone told me not to mess with them and to just return it for a new one but I'm stubborn and poor so I CAREFULLY straitened them and it works fine now. I don't reccomend doing this yourself since if I had broken any of them, I would've been screwed.
