Hi everyone!

I know there is something wrong with my computer, I know there is bad stuff on it, but I just can't put my finger on it!

My computer is slow. I bought it 6 months ago so it is almost brand new. When I go into my folders (which I like to view as "List" and pressed "Apply to all folders"), I find that they are always disturbed. They are usually thumbnails... I keep changing this over and over again, but it doesn't stay. Recently, my list of favorites just got moved around. When I ran S&D, it only found FunWeb and stuff, which deleted, but I saw some funky stuff being scanned (bottom left) and I didn't like that. I remember "GAIN.gator" for example. I don't know where all this came from...

I found your HJT tutorial, and here I am, hoping you guyz and girlz can help me understand my HJT log.

Thank you so much!

Lila :flowers:

Hi Lila,

Welcome to the forums.

There's not much wrong in that log.

Run HiJackThis, scan and place a check mark next to the following
O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/nocache/funwe...up1.0.0.8-2.cab

Optional fix. This is a resource hog and is not required at startup
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

With no windows or browser windows open, including this one, hit "Fix checked"

To disable "tkbell.exe" in the new version (1) Start RealOne Player (2) Tools -> Preferences (3) Automatic services in the Categories pane (4) Uncheck all options and then OK.

Reboot.

I'd like you to download and install this free program
http://cleanup.stevengould.org/
On the downloads page you will find Cleanup312.exe

Install and run this. This will delete the contents of C:\Temp, Windows Temporary Folder, Temporary Internet Files, cookies, Recycle Bin etc.

You may also want to defrag the hard drive.
To open Disk Defragmenter, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.

Let me know how you get on.
