okay so i used to have 2 gigs of crucial ballistix ram. my os btw is windows xp SP1 32-bit. then i bought another 2 gigs of the same ram , installed it successfully, and then i looked and it said i only had 3.2. i checked the system specs through control panel, xfire, srtest, and ccleaner and they all said the same thing, so then i checked my BIOS and it said i had 4 gigs installed. why is this happening and how can i fix it??

It was buried in a post, so I just copied and pasted
There's a workaround in Vista, but not XP

"No, that is normal and to be expected. In fact with 3.37 gb available
you are doing better than many.

The "problem" is that 32 bit operating systems can only proved a
maximum of 4 gb of address space for all functions. Out of that has
to come address space for video, for hardware ROM, etc."
