Hi,

I am running a Windows Vista OS. I received a BSOD randomly. The only applications running were firefox, and AIM. I used panda software to get rid of malware on my computer and it ran fine for a few hours than I received a second BSOD. At that time I was running firefox viewing YouTube. I believe that this may be a case of malware that Panda Software is not able to locate. Help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

The symptoms you describe could be malware related or they could be due to hardware or overheating problems caused by a failed processor fan, bad memory (RAM), failing power supply, underpowered power supply, CPU overheating, motherboard, video card, faulty drivers, BIOS and firmware problems, dirty hardware, etc. If the computer is overheating, it usually begins to restart on a more regular basis.

Can you provide the full error code and any files/drivers that may have been listed?

I didn't jot down any information from my BSOD, is there a way I can see my previous error code?

You can use Vista Event Viewer:
"What information appears in event logs?"
"Windows Vista - Event Viewer Topics"
"Windows Vista's Event Viewer"

Free tools you can use to view your event logs are Event Log Explorer and WinAudit.
In WinAudit, under Categories in the left pane, select Error Logs.
There will be three sub-categories: Application Errors, Security Errors and System Errors.
From there, scroll down the list to view the logs. You can click the "Save" button at the top to save a report in .html format.
