Hi,

Download rkfiles.zip
UNZIP the contents to a permanent folder

Reboot in SAFE MODE !! Important !!
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Doubleclick rkfiles.bat
It will scan for a while.
Wait till the doswindow closes and reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of C:\log.txt in your next reply.

I wasn't able to boot into safe mode. This computer is new to me and it is a dual boot Linux / WXP Home machine. There are two of us with "accounts" in windows so I have to log in to windows. Does this make the F8 Safe mode thing more complicated somehow?

It is really important you boot in safe mode in windows to run rkfiles, because in this case, in normal mode, windows wont always see those files.

Download remv3.zip
You will find remv3.zip as an attachement there, so download it.
Unzip all the files to a permanent folder.

* Download CWShredder
Start CWShredder and click FIX

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: (important!!)
°To get into Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

*Double click on remv3.bat to run it. Wait till the dos window closes. !!Don't forget this step!!

*Reboot back to normal mode.
Look on your C:\ and you will find a txtfile with the name: log.txt
Post the contents from that log together with a fresh HijackThislog.
