When i am using the internet there is a pop up appearing and it is always appearing.
I am irritated with it.Can you help me fix it??
the popup states like "CiD"

Hi jcboy and welcome.
I am going with you have an XP PC here.

Go to Start, Control Panel, double click Add/Remove Programs
Highlight and select Remove for any of these entries if present.

If asked for a Verification code, enter the numbers that appear in the window.
Reboot the PC now.

NEXT:
Download Attribune's ATF Cleaner and then SUPERAntiSpyware, Free Home Version. Save both to desktop ..
DO NOT run yet.
Open SUPER from icon and install and Update it
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
Close browsers before scanning.
Scan for tracking cookies.
Terminate memory threats before quarantining
.
Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program. DO NOT run yet.

Now reboot into Safe Mode: How to enter safe mode(XP)
Using the F8 Method
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.


Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox or Opers browser click that browser at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt
.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

NOW Scan with SUPER
Open from the desktop icon or the program Files list
On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
Perform a Complete scan. After scan,Verify they are all checked.
Click OK on the summary screen to quarantine all found items.
If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally.

To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log.
A text file will open in your default text editor.
Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
Click Close to exit the program.

Note: If you were using Messenger Plus! Live and want to continue to use it, then reinstall and choose not to install the Sponsor after your computer has been cleaned. See How to remove Messenger Plus (C2Media) and How to install Messenger Plus! Live without the Sponsor.

If none of these programs were listed, then continue as follows.

Please download the Lop uninstaller and save to your desktop.

  • Double-click on uninstall.exe.
  • Click Ok, the Ok again.
  • Type the number you see on the "verification" screen and click Uninstall.
  • You will be asked to "Please close all browser windows and Explorer folders...". Click Ok.
  • Restart your computer when done.
Note:Some anit-virus and anti-malware scanners may detect the uninstaller as malware. This is common with programs created to remove certain infections. You will have to let your anti-virus allow the file to download and run. When it has finished, you can allow your security programs to remove the uninstaller.

Do this instead.

Please download NoLop and save it to your desktop.

  • Now close any other programs you have running as this step will require a reboot.
  • Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
  • Click the button labeled "Search and Destroy"
    <<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected. Click OK.
  • Click the "REBOOT" button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish.
  • Please copy an paste the contents of C:\NoLop.log in your next reply.
--If you receive an error: "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered", please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun NoLop..

Well nothing was found so this will require further investigation.

Please read the pinned topic titled "Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log" and complete all the steps. There are instructions for downloading and running Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) which will create a hijackthis log for you, or automatically download and install the most current version of HijackThis if it's not already installed on your computer.

When you have done that, post your log in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum, NOT here, for assistance by the HJT Team Experts. A member of the Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer. If you post your log back in this thread, the response from the HJT Team will be delayed because your post will have to be moved. This means it will fall in line behind any others posted that same day.

Start a new topic, give it a relevant title and post your log along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. An expert will analyze your log and reply with instructions advising you what to fix. After doing this, we would appreciate if you post a link to your log back here so we know that your getting help from the HJT Team.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your post or make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
