Computer Not Shutting Down

When i shut down my windows 98 computers they say windows is shutting down but then get stuck on that screen.
Can i have some help please?

Shutdown problems are inherent in every version of Windows...and they are difficult to troubleshoot because it seems that so many things can be the cause.

Some things you can look at and try:

if this is on a 98se computer, please advise what you did to 'fix ' this problem :thumbsup:
