i was on my laptop which is a week old
i've not done anything really on it but install some legit software (Open office, avg, flash, quicktime, windows updates, yahoo msngr and that's about it)

i was on task manager and saw 2 instances of somthing called csrss.exe
i clsoed one down but one refused to close down... kinda like the stupid hldrrr.exe worm so alarm bells started ringing

am I infected and if so what do I do to clean this thing off my computer please

... is the main executable for the Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem. This process manages most graphical commands in Windows. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.


Experts will tell you it depends on where the file is located (among other things I guess) to determine with it is a virus, spyware, trojans etc...

Note: The csrss.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. In other cases, csrss.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm!


You can also try scanning you computer using this excellent Online Scanner (Kaspersky):
