I have been having some problems with a occassional, but consistent pop up, that seems to be under PC-Antispyware. The following links are some screenshots of what the prompt looks like:

http://www.geocities.com/a17o17y177o11s17e...antispyware.jpg
http://www.geocities.com/a17o17y177o11s17e...ntispyware2.jpg

I have tried running various programs to get rid of it: AD-Aware SE, AVG, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, Spybot, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Combofix. I haven't been able to find anything searching "antispyware" through my files and registry.

Here is my Hijackthis log:

Hello and welcome to BleepingComputer.

While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once we're finished.
  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
When disabled, please download ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Double-click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer. This is done so it can be re-enabled without problems after cleaning.

---

Then.... Please rerun a scan with HijackThis and check the following objects for removal:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [neebzclwizsi] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hueeqq.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [QdrModule12] "C:\Program Files\QdrModule\QdrModule12.exe"

O20 - Winlogon Notify: fccdaya - fccdaya.dll (file missing)

Now close ALL other open windows but HijackThis and hit FIX CHECKED. Exit HijackThis.

---

Please follow the instructions for running ComboFix here and post back with it's log.

I would also like to add that whenever I run MBAM, it will find a Trojan.FakeAlert even if I try clean it earlier the same day.

Let's also run the following tool...

Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.

Please download SDFix and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click on SDFix.exe to extract the files to C:\SDFix
  • DO NOT use it just yet.
Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer.
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
5) Login to your usual account.
  • Once in Safe Mode, open the SDFix folder & double-click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the script.
  • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any key and it will restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
-- If this error message is displayed when running SDFix: "The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator. Press any key to continue..."
Please go to Start Menu > Run > and copy/paste the following line:
%systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\swreg IMPORT %systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\Enable_Command_Prompt.reg
Press Ok and then run SDFix again.

-- If the Command Prompt window flashes on then off again on XP or Win 2000, please go to Start Menu > Run > and copy/paste the following line:
%systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\FixPath.exe /Q
Reboot and then run SDFix again.

-- If SDFix still does not run, check the %comspec% variable. Right-click My Computer > click Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables and check that the ComSpec variable points to cmd.exe.
%SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe

Hi there, stranger!

I tried to complete the instructions as stated, but I ran into a problem. I was able to run SDFix in Safe Mode, but the Final Check after the start up failed to complete after running for 30 minutes. I tried doing it a few more times (once letting it restart into safe mode), but ended up with the same result  . Nonetheless, this is the result:

In the Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs list search the following:

QdrPack

Uninstall if found (click Remove).

Then please navigate to and delete the following folder if found:

C:\Program Files\QdrPack

Empty recycle bin.

Then... Please rerun a scan with HijackThis and check the following objects for removal if present:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [QdrPack14] "C:\Program Files\QdrPack\QdrPack14.exe"
O20 - Winlogon Notify: fccdaya - fccdaya.dll (file missing)

With all the other windows closed, hit FIX CHECKED and exit HijackThis.

----

Finally.. If you already have installed Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware the latest version (1.10 I believe), simply update it and run the scan, and post the log as instructed. If not..

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

alternate download link 2
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • If you have trouble with the update process, please download the latest updates here.
  • Double-click the mbam-rules.exe file on your desktop and let it update the application.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart. (see extra note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Please copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Please also check the following....

Click Start -> Run and type in:

devmgmt.msc

The Device Manager will open.

Click on View -> Show Hidden Devices.

Scroll down the list and find the Non Plug and Play Devices.

Double-click on it to expand. See if you can find the following driver listed?

ati1tuxxx

If so, right-click on it, choose Properties and let me know all the info is given on it.

Everything, at this point, seem to be running fine. The popups are no longer present, but AVG does report that it finds Trojans when I scan, which I did just now. I did hear, however, that AVG sometimes give false positives, so I don't know. I truly appreciate all of the help you have given. :]

Click Start -> Run and type in:

ComboFix /u

Click on OK. When shown the disclaimer, select 2.

Then....

Please download OTCleanIt and save it to desktop.
  • Double-click OTCleanIt.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to reboot during the cleanup, select YES.
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.
Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.

At this point, please run another scan with AVG and see if it finds anything. Let me know.

I did a last scan with AVG and nothing came up. Thanks for all of your help. I would like to know if you have any suggestions for maintenance, such as running MBAM daily or something like that, to prevent the system from getting to that point again. But thank you again for your time; it is much appreciated.

Stand Up and Be Counted ---> Malware Complaints <--- where you can make difference!

The site offers people who have been (or are) victims of malware the opportunity to document their story and, in that way, launch a complaint against the malware and the makers of the malware.

Here's some tips for future to prevent spyware:

Detect and Remove Programs:Prevention Programs:
  • Comodo BOClean <= Stop identity thieves from getting personal information. Instantly detects well over 1,000,000 unique, variant and repack malware in total. And it's free.
  • SpywareBlaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed. Detailed installation guide provided.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well known adsites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.
Other necessary Programs:
  • Antivirus Program <= An antivirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like Avast! or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like NOD32 this is a must have. (Note to only use 1 at-the-time)
  • Firewall <= A firewall is definitely a must have. Two good free versions are Comodo and Online Armor. (Note to only use 1 at-the-time)
  • More Secure Browser <= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox.
And also see TonyKlein's good advice:
So how did I get infected in the first place?

Setup guide for Comodo Firewall
Setup guide for Avast! 4 Free
Setup guide for AVG Free Antivirus
