My external WD hard drive was dropped...
My computer doesn't recognize it at all...not listed anywhere
The lights are on and no one is home.
I've tried CBL to see if I can retrieve the files...get an "error 27 in HD 129" . This program has been running for 24 hours.
Can the files be retrieved? By whom and at what cost?
Thanks.

If you go to the website of the manufacturer of the drive you should be able to download a diagnostic tool to test the drive.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.

It's possible that when you dropped it something inside became loose. It's also either a 2.5 or 3.5 drive that you can easily hook up to another computer
