Ram Got Me Baffled

I have an acer aspire3000 ( yeah! I know ) it now has 512 ram and I want to upgrade to at least 1gb. Can I add the 1 gb to the existing 512? or just dump it 512 I mean. Acer told me my ram max is 2gb ddr333 soDimm. Thank you for your help...Dave Gale

I guess what I am asking is by leaving in the old 512 ram will it not be as fast as a regular 1 gb alone?

More RAM to a point means a faster performance, so yes, you would benefit by adding the 1GB module with the 512MB module.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Your system does not support dual channel.


open it and verify there's only one stick, I would just add another 512
