Hello,

I think I have some sort of virus.........I am continually prompted to download "anti-virus" software to fix an alleged infection when I open IE. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend has clicked "OK" and now everytime I run a google search it comes back with the same porn site (something from youtube.) I downloaded hihjackthis from a link on your site and ran a log. It seems that I should wait to post it until you reply though.

Thank you in advance for your help,
AB

Hello abrown29 and welcome to BC :flowers:

Let's hold off on HiJack This. If you need to post a log, we will provide you with the directions at that time.

In order to provide you with proper disinfection procedures, we need some additional information.

What is your operating system: Windows XP, Vista, etc.?

What security programs do you have installed?

download "anti-virus" software to fix an alleged infection when I open IE

What is the name of the software that it asks you to download? This information is useful in identifying what infection you have.
