What kind of video card do you have? You may need to download an updated driver for it that support dx 9

Hi Grinler, I'm not sure how to find out what kind of video card I have? Under my device manager in the in the sound/video and game controllers it says ES1869 control interface WDM and ES1869 Plug and Play Audio Device. Is that it or should I be looking somewhere else? Thanx for your help!

START>RUN>MSINFO32 or
START>RUN>DXDIAG

This should tell you which card you have , and anything else about your system .

Good morning Grinler, under display adapter it says ATI 3D Rage Pro (AtIR3) and when I used the diagnostic tool that Akron, ( hope I just spelled that right), suggested it says the main driver is ATIR3.drv, is this of any more help. Thank you!

howdy wildchild, try http://list.driverguide.com/list/company127/ to find your driver. I think you should find it there.

I don't think this card supports DirectX . I believe it is a 2D card only . Grinler ill verify .

Good Morning Akron, it must support DirectX to some degree because my son plays a game called Tibia that needs the DirectX to play, I'm at a loss here!! Thank you for your help.

Have you tried the ATI website for the lastest drivers ? I know my kids can't play certian online games for the same reason . My Dells have the same chipset built onboard . Best I can tell it has to do with the ability to 3D render . I am not an expert on the subject , just sharing personal experence . My solution was to upgrade to a 32mb Matrox card .

Thank you Acklon, I've decided I'm really not going to worry about it because the only reason I was stressing it was because my son wants me to download a game called Conquer on-line, which even with my cable connection can take up to 12 hours by the time you download that and all the patches, so he will just have to suffer through life without it, hehehehe.
