I'm having the same problem on my computer. I built mine on my own. It will start to boot up, finish the PCI Devices Listing and then display "Error Loading OS" right after it says it verifying DMI Pool Data... I accessed the bios and my HD is detected. I have a 200Gb internal hard drive as a slave drive to it and I am curious as to whether I could switch the cables between the HDs and get it to boot off the 200Gb and install XP on it, then pull the data off of the old one (original boot drive) that is now connected as the slave drive.

Failure of the DMI pool can be several different things From a bad hard drive to a corrupt BIOS. The only thing to do is troubleshoot one thing at a time.
Here's a good article on the matter http://www.computerhope.com/
