On one of my computers some long mpg files (over 10 minutes) only play for about one minute. The same files play fine on another computer so I think there may be a program corruption or registry problem. The problem occurred in WMP 10 and remained when I reverted to WMP 9. Media Player cannot be uninstalled and I do not wish to reformat the drive and lose a lot of programs and settings.

The program shows the file as being, for example, 1.04 minutes long when it is really much longer than that. At the end of the 1.04 minutes the image stays constant but the later portions of the video can be viewed by clicking on the time bar at the bottom and "going back to the future."

I am running XP Home on a 2 gigahertz PC with 512 meg of memory.

Thanks for any help than can be offered.
