Thought that I should post as I was reading somewhere in a forum about "sp3" quite hurriedly and thought I tagged the article for more thorough reading and when I went to find it, I couldn't and so I thought that I would post the query here.
I didn't know if this was simply talk about such an upgrade or what???

Any comments from members would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time !!

You probably don't need it if your updates are up to date.

Yes my updates are current, and that is the reason that I posted as I don't want to mess up my notebook as I am a non techie and then end up with a non functional little box on my desk at work !!!
I appreciate the comments. So I should not have to worry about doing d/l? Correct.
Thank you.

Is this still a beta version?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Yes. They like to call it a "pre-release".
Read the whitepapers in the link for details.

I have RC2 of the beta installed on this system, no abnormalities/problems.

I had RC1 installed prior to the release of RC2, no problems with that either.

I had no problem installing RC1, but I (and others)ran into problems installing RC2, http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPo...9&SiteID=17

I would probably suggest that most users wait for the final non-beta version of SP3.

Hey thx Hamluis for the Heads Up on this one as I mentioned that I am a non tech user and can't afford issues that I might have to take my notebook to a tech to resolve and it is more than annoying when you inflict these problems unknowingly onto yourself and then end up paying big bucks to fix the problem. Even though I would do a back up, sometimes that does not necessarily resolve the matter without an odd hiccup....at least that is what I have found and that is probably due to the fact that I did something else about the same time just prior to doing a back up without thoroughly using my notebook.

BTW, is there any time frame that this final SP3 will be out, just so that I can keep my ears open?
Thank you for your time !

It's been pushed back at least twice, they needed to concentrate on fixing Vista, a good idea. Mid summer, we might see it.

It will be nice to be able to download the whole version and save for when you have to reformat or run a repair disk and you can apply the SP instead of redownload all those hotpatches and critical updates.

Was MP11 included in SP3?

Was MP11 included in SP3?

No, nor is IE7, .NET and various other programs which can be updated seperatley.
There was an article in PCW that stated this stuff was going to be rolled in but it is incorrect.

I hope you knowledgeable ones keep the thread alive for those of us who are not as quick to know where to find the info or get duped by what they thought was the real thing !

Thanks HitSquad

I have been waiting for the final to slipstream into my cab files, but I broke my old standby MusicMatch with MP11 and couldn't fix and ended up reloading windows

FWIW: I have WMP 11 installed and I have continued to use MMJB 10 for my music, no problems. I ignore all attempts to "update" MMJB by Yahoo.
