Well i would say no about starting a bat file while the shut down box is up. But i would say that if you started it before you clicked the button, then yes it should be running until windows actually shuts the computer down. I base this on the fact that other programs continue to run whilst that box is up and only close when shut down or log off etc are clicked.

What i mean by shut down box can be seem here

Hmm... what i mean is this:

I have schedule a backup on every tuesday and friday nite to the company server.

I wanted to do it around midnight because I have many files and may take hours and don't want to affect the others speed for accessing the server.

The thing is that sometimes I forgotten about the backup and I shut down the pc before I left.

So what I wanted to do is:

Once I click the start -> turn off computer, it will appear a message:

" Hey, you have a backup session later, are you sure you want to shut down?"

Y for yes, N for no

That's it.

Any suggestion?

I am sort of confused here. You mean you want a message that pops-ups when you are about to shut-down on a certain day and you want the message to remind you not to turn off because there is a back-up scheduled at around midnight?
