I have a stand alone cd duplicator tower (1 to 3) and now I need a dvd duplicator. Can I buy the dvd burners and switch out the cd burners? Or do I need to bite the bullet and buy a whole new tower?

What type of material are you going to be duplicating?

Are we talking about a normal PC Tower which currently holds a CD RW and you are wanting to install a DVD RW ?

Depending on the space in your tower you could just add a DVD drive in underneath the CD Drive, if not its a simple job of taking out the CD Drive and putting the DVD Drive in its place.

No, it's a cd duplicator tower--that's all it does. It doesn't connect to the PC. I just put in the original, add blanks to the other drives, push a few buttons and before you know it I have 3 copies of the original cd.

But now I need to switch to dvds.

I had asked what type of material you were going to be copying for a reason. If you are going to be copying copyrighted material our forums rules will not allow us to help you.

ok i understand now, post the manufacturer and model number and we'll have a look for ya.

Having a quick look into duplication towers tho it would appear that you could just pull out and change the drive from CD to DVD, im going on the picture below as to similar to yours?

As for what I'm duplicating--they are videos we have made ourselves to promote our program--nothing copyrighted.

The duplicator is a Systor 300S52U60.

Sorry, but I can't see a picture in your post.

I cant find your exact model but looking at the Systor website it doesnt shoe anywhere if the drives are chanable, however i did notice they have CD Towers and DVD Towers so there maybe some difference between them, the only way would be to either try and open the tower and see if the drives are changable and test with a drive if you had one to hand or to email them.

Sorry i couldnt give a definate answer but theres not much info ive found to support either or

A drive is just a drive. It has to be told what to do. You say this is a stand alone unit, so I would assume either an update or a complete new set of instructions would need to be implemented

the controller card will determine whether you can change out the 4 cd drives for 4 dvd drives
