My Floppy drive was jamed but then me and my dad unjammed it. Then when I put a floppy in there, it wont read it. And then last night I put a CD in my CD drive and it sounded like it was loading but nothing happened. So I went to "My Computer" and there was no icon on the M drive just a picture of a CD then it just said "(M)" after it.
I took a look inside my computer to see if anything was disconnected and nothing was disconnected from the back of the drive. I tried other cd's and nothing. So when I put a CD in and click on the m drive after it sounds like its done loading it says "M:/ Not Accesible The Device is Not Ready".
I am this close to blowing my computer up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please help me.

Have you tried the cd on another computer? Also open the cd player and blow inside it and see if that helps.

When you insert a cd in, does the drive spin up? After you insert and put your ear near it, do you hear the laser mechanism moving around?

I would run down to your local electronics place (circuit city, bestbuy ,etc) and pick up a new cd player (only if you can return it after trying it), install it and if it works we know its the drive.
