Had trojandownloader.xs with pop ups all over wanting me to purchase spyware. Computer extremely slow and could not use task manager or start in safe mode. Used the removal process for malware on this site with Superanti spyware and adaware. Seems to be working alright but the tutorial said I should post my recent Hijackthis log. I also ran combofix and have that log also. This log is after running combofix. Could somebody please check and see if I need to do anything else.

I apologize for the very long delay. We have a huge backlog of HijackThis Logs to handle and it has been taking us greater time than normal to get caught up. If you are still having a problem, and want us to analyze your information, please post a brand new HijackThis log, along with a description of any problems you are experiencing. If we do not hear back from you within a couple of days we will need to close your topic.

When posting your logs please post them directly into the reply. Do not attach them.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for responding. I have run what this site said to do to get rid of trojandownloader.xs, 180 solutions, Zango, and got the taskbar to be used again. Did all this with the computer of line. The computer runs very slow but everything looks gone. I cannot hook to the internet shows it is connected but can't go anywhere. Here is a new hijackthis log.

  • Download WinsockFix.zip. (by: Option^Explicit)
  • Transfer it to the affected PC
  • UnZip WinsockFix.zip (Pay close attention to where the file is extracted to.)
  • Run WinsockFix.exe.
  • Click the Fix button.

Follow these instructions to set your PC up to use the OpenDNS DNS servers:

https://www.opendns.com/start?device=windows-xp

Restart & let me know if you can access the internet now.

Went to the site and added in the open dns servers and restarted. It showed little or no connectivity. Ran xp network diagnogstics tool and it came back with the network card failed. DNSServerSearchOrder (Failed) and DHCPServer =255.255.255.255 (Invalid IP address)

Any other ideas. I really do appreciate your help.

Go to start >run
Type cmd and then press enter
A command window should now come up
Type ping 72.232.215.26 and then press enter
Let me know the results of this.
