Just happened to install and defragment my hard drive. When I defragment again I will take a look at JKDefrag and see how good it is.

I have xp setups that haven't had disk cleanup or been defragged for a year ot two, add a few toolbars and McAfee and they hardly run, scans take forever, there's still plenty of free space but windows has started to lose control. It'll take me a couple of hours to uninstall all the old crud accumulated in add and remove programs, set the standard optimization, turn off indexing, take out the trash etc. Defrag may take a couple of hours. I would estimate the machine is 3-4 times more responsive after this. Mine never takes more than 5 minutes, if I remember to do it at least once a month.

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.
