I have a 3 yr old Samsung 17" 753S monitor.Last night while working the screen started fluctuating and went blank after few seconds.I immediately switched off the system and restarted it by replugging the cables. It looked good for 4-5 sec but again went blank. Also it started smelling like a burnt object .Today morning when I switched it on the screen looked distorted and again smelt of burning.Till now I haven't switched it on.I know it needs to go for repairs. Is it a major/minor problem?

Hi plzpush, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

That monitor is a CRT type and usually will cost more to repair it than it's worth. I would also suggest that you not open the case and play around, there is a harness which retains a high voltage charge which would ruin your day if you discharged it to your person.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
